A 65-year-old golfer died on a course in Florida after being attacked with his own golf club. In what appears to be “Random act of violence,” police said.
Junior Boucher, 36, is facing a manslaughter charge after the death of Brian Hiltebeitel at Sandhill Crane Golf Course in Palm Beach Gardens Monday afternoon.
“At this time, Boucher does not appear to have a legitimate purpose for being at the golf course. This appeared to be an unintentional act of violence, with Boucher using the victim’s golf club as a weapon and viciously attacking the victim. and ultimately killed him,” said Palm Beach Gardens Police Chief Dominic Pape. said at a press conference on Tuesday.
According to the police report Witnesses heard Hiltebetel scream, “He tried to kill me.” Boucher was then seen hitting him with a golf club on the first fairway.

Hiltebetel tried to run away. But Boucher took another golf club from Hiltebetel’s bag and chased him into the pool. where he jumped on him, choked him and beat him again, police said.
After the attack, Boucher took off his clothes and fled into the woods. Officers used a stun gun to subdue him.

Pape told reporters on Tuesday that efforts to save Hiltebetel’s life had been unsuccessful. He added that he died at the golf course.
His family reported Boucher missing an hour before the attack, according to The Associated Press.
Court records indicate last Monday Boucher’s family members filed a petition to evict him from their home.

Dina Lauro, who WPTV identified as Hiltebeitel’s girlfriend, described him as “a really nice guy. He’s exciting to be with. Always in a good mood, never depressed, wake up happy.”
