An NHL goalie mysteriously put a lead goal in his own net.

Charlie Lindgren gave the Tampa Bay Lightning the biggest gift any team could ask for on Wednesday night.

Lindgren was the netminder for the Washington Capitals in Florida on Thanksgiving Day with the game tied at 3 in the third period.

Because of him, that is no longer the case.

When the puck flows into Washington’s zone on the defensive end Lindgren also came out of the crease to make a play. Lindgren aims to pass the ball to teammates. But the net blocked his way.

About three minutes after the error, John Carlson tied the game with his third goal of the season, then with about five minutes remaining in regulation. The Caps played with intensity and Tom Wilson scored what ended up being the winning goal.
