Anti-Israel protesters attempt to block Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade route


Anti-Israel protesters with signs and banners “Free Palestine” descended on the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City on Thursday. Police removed those who tried to block the parade route.

A group of protesters held up a Palestinian flag and unfurled a banner that read: “Don’t celebrate the Holocaust!” in the middle of the street as a parade led by Ronald McDonald balloons descended on W. 55th Street and Sixth Avenue.

Photos show that NYPD officers dispersed and detained several protesters to allow the parade to proceed without obstruction. Some protesters were seen walking away. while others Those who refused to move were pulled away or taken to the ground and handcuffed.

Protesters could be heard screaming. “Free Palestine” as police disperse the group in a video from the scene. Large crowds lining the streets to watch the parade could be heard booing protesters.
