China releases three Americans ‘wrongfully detained’, White House says


China released three Americans on Wednesday. “Improper detention,” Fox News confirmed.

“We are pleased to announce the release of Mark Swidan, Kai Lee and John Leung from detention in the People’s Republic of China,” a National Security Council spokesperson said. “They will soon be back. and reunited with his family for the first time in many years This is thanks to the administration’s efforts and diplomacy with China. It allows all Americans wrongfully detained in the PRC to return home.”

Mark Swidan of Texas was 38 years old when he traveled to China on business to find flooring for construction work in November 2012. He was arrested after his driver and translator were accused of taking drugs, the Texas Tribune reported.

A United Nations report states that Swedan did not have any drugs on his person or in his hotel room. And records show he was not in China at the time of the alleged wrongdoing.

The UN report said 11 other people arrested along with Swedans were part of an alleged human trafficking ring. His identity could not be determined. And the conviction stemmed from his visit to a factory that was once used to produce methamphetamine.

Harrison Li, Kai Li’s son, told Fox News about a year ago that His father is detained in China. He was traveling there to attend a memorial service for his mother.

“He was not allowed to get off the plane. As soon as he landed at Shanghai Pudong Airport Officials from the Ministry of State Security escorted him away. And no one has been able to see him outside the prison since then,” Li said.
