Indiana Army National Guard soldier dies in… “Non-combat incident” in Iraq just days after Christmas The National Guard confirmed to Fox News.
The National Guard said Capt. Eric Richard Hart, 34, of Indianapolis, Indiana, died Dec. 28 while supporting Operation Inherent Resolve in the Middle East.
The National Guard has not revealed what caused Hart’s death. But it said the incident was under investigation.

Hart served in the Indiana National Guard for 11 years, earning the Distinguished Service Medal. Army Commendation Medal Army Achievement Medal Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal and many more.
He was commissioned as a Lieutenant in 2015 from Officer Candidate School at Camp Atterbury.

In a statement sent to Fox News Digital, the Indiana National Guard called Hart “a “An important part of our team,” they wrote, “He will be missed.”
“The Indiana National Guard would like to express our sincere and heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Captain Eric Hart, who lost his life in a non-combat incident while serving overseas with the 38th Infantry Division in support of operations. Inherent Resolve,” the statement said. “We mourn them and the soldiers who served and served alongside Captain Hart.”

The United States announces plans to reduce the U.S. footprint. in iraq and end the current mission of the Allied Forces. including the Kurds to fight ISIS But it declined to say how many of the 2,500 currently deployed soldiers would remain.
