Adam Fravel, 30, was sentenced by District Judge Nancy Buytendorp in Winona, Minnesota, after he was found guilty of first-degree premeditated murder. That was about 136 miles away in Mankato due to pre-trial publicity, The Associated Press reported.

Fravel, who did not testify in his own defense at the trial. told the judge during the sentencing that he was innocent and “Never hurt Maddie.”

The family of a missing Minnesota mother fears foul play when she disappears after going to daycare.

“The crimes committed by Mr. Fravel have shaken the foundations of our community. It reveals the extremes of domestic violence. and reveals the heinous actions of a man who did not care how his actions would affect his children for the rest of their lives,” Winona County District Attorney Karin Sonneman told the court, according to The AP.

A witness who testified to seeing bruises on Kingsbury’s neck also said she was planning to leave Fravel for another man because “Accused of inappropriate behavior and insufficient donations,” the store said.
