An Iranian/American citizen has been charged in connection with the Iranian drone strike that killed a U.S. service member.

Two Iranian men have been charged in connection with a deadly drone attack earlier this year. It left three members of the U.S. military dead and dozens injured.

Mahdi Mohammad Sadeghi was arrested in Massachusetts. and is expected to appear in court on Monday. Another suspect, Mohammad Abedinajafabadi. Arrested in Italy and is under the control of the Italian authorities Federal prosecutors said

The charges are linked to 28 deadly attacks in January on U.S. forces, the first since then. Israel-Hamas War Starting in October 2023

Three reservists – Sergeant William Jerome Rivers; Spc. Kennedy Ladon Sanders and spc. Breonna Alexsondria Moffett – all Georgia residents – were killed on January 1. Twenty-eight people died in Jordan and 47 others were injured in the drone attack. which targeted a small military base called Tower 22 near the border of Syria and Iraq.

All three were assigned to the 718th Engineer Company, 926th Engineer Battalion, 926th Engineer Brigade in Fort Moore, Georgia.

The soldiers were stationed in Jordan in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, the U.S. military’s name for it. in the war with the Islamic State terrorist group

Rivers, 46, works in the Army Reserve as an interior electrician. Meanwhile, Sanders, 24, and Moffett, 23, worked as low-rise construction engineers.
