The school board meeting took place during a parade of hysterical rants between concerned parents and transgender activists Thursday night. It comes amid a national debate over transgender athletes on cross country teams.

The mother complained hysterically about her name being shared with pro-trans activists. Another parent pointed out that the district’s science curriculum includes textbooks that teach genetic differences between biological males and females. The mother brought out the school’s grade 9 biology textbook. And read the passage explaining that men are born with XY chromosomes, while women are born with XX chromosomes.
She then held up a photo of a student who was punished for wearing a shirt that read XX (not equal to XY).
“This is what you do to the student who wore the shirt I wore tonight. Claiming that biological facts are in your textbooks That’s part of your curriculum. Will we continue to put tape in textbooks? That’s what will happen. Aren’t we going to teach science?” she yelled. “You’re denying biological facts that won’t hurt someone’s feelings. And that’s not okay!”
The mother then referred to allegations in a recent lawsuit filed by two female runners at the school that the school compared the T-shirts to swastikas.
The other mother was identified only as Colleen. They were already screaming before she walked onto the platform. Criticized the committee for allowing pro-trans activists in the office to cheer pro-trans sentiments. In an earlier statement provided to Fox News Digital, RUSD said it was allowing transgender athletes to compete on teams because they were required to comply with California law.
“It is important to remember that RUSD must comply with California law that requires students to ‘are allowed to participate in gender-segregated school programs and activities including sports teams and competitions that align with one’s gender identity regardless of stated gender in the student record,” the statement said.
The school said those upset by this should direct their anger to state and federal lawmakers.
“While these matters are playing out in our courts and media, Resistance and protest should be directed at those in a position to affect those laws and policies. including officials in Washington, D.C. and Sacramento,” the statement said.
