“I think Josh Allen continues to show why he should be the MVP,” McDermott said. “I’ve been in this league long enough to know I’m going to see MVP every year for many, many years. And what he did with this team and this organization in this community — and not offend anyone — but I really struggled with that. When I believe there are people doing more than that.”

Allen also became the first player in NFL history to score 40 touchdowns in five consecutive seasons. Buffalo is locked into the No. 2 seed in the playoffs. It’s the final revenge on those who didn’t accept this season.

“It speaks to the team we have here. The people we have in this locker room. How this team came together and the culture that we have,” Allen said. “We didn’t really buy into the pre-season ideas. But we heard it and we saw it And we know what people are saying.”
