An employee of a Brooklyn homeless shelter was brutally stabbed outside the shelter Thursday night, police said.
The grisly incident took place at a Days Inn hotel that was converted into a shelter by the city on East New York Avenue in Brownsville.

The 35-year-old unidentified employee was attacked at around 6:20 p.m. and later ran into the building to call for help. He had been stabbed multiple times in the neck and abdomen. And there was a lot of blood in the lobby when the doctor arrived. That sent him to Brookdale Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Police are looking for a male suspect. Dressed in black Wear a baseball cap and a ski mask.
Until now, there is no information about what led to the gruesome attack. But the area has seen many hotels converted into housing for homeless people. and has dealt with a fair share of violent crimes in the past.

One neighbor said in a New York Post comment: “They turned all the hotels around here into COVID shelters. There are four or five more around here. There were a lot of stabbings, a lot of problems.”

New York City is battling violent crime on its streets and public transportation. The only problem worse is the influx of illegal immigrants without shelter. Mayor Eric Adams has repeatedly expressed his dissatisfaction with the federal government. and argued that the city lacked the resources to care for them.
As of April 2022, an estimated 220,000 migrants have flowed into the city. More than 58,000 people are currently being cared for by New York City taxpayers. According to a report from City Hall
