“As a reporter I have a confession to make,” Cillizza began “apologizing” on his YouTube channel on Thursday. “I should have pushed harder earlier. To learn more about Joe Biden’s physical and mental well-being and signs of decline.”

Cillizza acknowledged how Republicans would “ping me regularly” during his time at CNN, asking him why he didn’t talk about Biden’s decline and how he would “brush them off.” Because he sees no “evidence” of presidential decline.

And not only did he admit to taking the White House’s word for it. But he also admitted he felt guilty for “embarrassing” Biden.

“The White House and the people around Joe Biden have been very adamant about any suggestion. Asking questions about whether he is physically, mentally, or both is deteriorating. It is considered disgusting. ‘How did you do it? It’s such a shameful age.’ And I think that affected me on some level,” Cillissa said. “Because while I ask questions from time to time… I wasn’t pushing it at all, to be honest. Now, as I leave CNN and as it becomes a little clearer to me about Biden’s age, I think I write pretty regularly and talk regularly that I’m not sure this guy will. How can you do that? And obviously after the June 27 debate, everyone, including me, wrote and talked about it.”

A former CNN pundit read an excerpt from the Journal’s report on Biden’s limited interactions with members of his own Cabinet and Democratic lawmakers. That included an assertion the Times found “hard to imagine” that Biden would remain in office for another four years.

“I should have pushed harder on the Biden era. Because if you look back It was clear that those close to him knew that at best he had good days and some bad days. June 27, the discussion was clearly a bad day. But if that bad day was that bad, it was as bad as the one he had on that debate stage. The fact that he was president without anyone asking many questions about his physical and mental decline. And I will add the fact that he continued to say that he will serve as president from June 27 to January 20, 2025. I think that’s a little worrying and raises questions like when did people close to him know, what did they know, and why not? Share?” said Cillizza.

“I know the reporter asked. And I can tell you, I mean, I know from my experience. There’s a shame factor to that. People around Biden work to make you feel bad when you ask if he can do it. Presidential job Run for president again and served as president for another four years. ‘How did you do it?’…and they did a great job. At least until they can’t hide it any longer,” he continued, “but the reporter and myself are here. We should have been more pressing. We should have. I shouldn’t have let the shaming campaign that made you feel bad for asking questions get to me. Because it’s now clear from both the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times article that there is real decline… And the dramatic decline of Joe Biden and the people around him orchestrated it. They are saving the world. the political world and keep him in the bunker.”

“And I think it’s a lesson that we have to learn moving forward. Because again, Donald Trump will be the oldest person to ever hold office if he serves four years, and I’ll take that into account. Because I repeat again that asking those things The question is not a non-partisan one. Asking those questions is a matter of journalism. And I should have pressed harder and been less willing to accept a ‘no, he’s fine, look at him’ public campaign,” Cillizza added.

Some critics took aim at Cillizza’s belated apology, including conservative podcast host Meghan McCain. Consider his sincerity carefully. It referenced his past comments about her late father, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., during his 2008 presidential run.

“When I say it’s too late. I mean, it’s pathetically too late,” McCain responded to He’s 71, mind you.) More than Chris, he’s ignoring Biden because he’s a hack.”
