Jamie Foxx was injured during an altercation while celebrating his 57th birthday at Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills, according to his representative.

A spokesperson for Foxx told Fox News Digital that the incident happened while the actor and singer was dining at the celebrity favorite restaurant on Friday night.

“Jamie Foxx was at his birthday dinner. when someone from another table threw a glass that went into his mouth. He needed stitches and is recovering. The police have been called. And now the matter is in the hands of law enforcement agencies,” the statement read.

According to a press release obtained by Fox News Digital, officers from the Beverly Hills Police Department responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon on Mr. Friday Chow.

Foxx was also asked about his Netflix comedy special “Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was” in the special released Tuesday. The comedian shared new details about his 2023 health crisis.

“What a lucky moment. To be on stage,” he said, “It’s amazing, man. Having been through crazy things before, but coming back laughing. and let others know what happened. That is amazing.”

The “Blame It” singer said legendary comedians like George Carlin and Richard Pryor inspired him to speak about his pain in the special.

In April 2023, Foxx was hospitalized in a coma for several weeks after suffering from mysterious symptoms. During his Netflix special, Foxx broke down in tears multiple times throughout the special as he explained to fans. Hear what put him in a coma.

“I am fighting for my life,” Fox said. “On April 11, I had a really bad headache and asked my son for aspirin…before taking the aspirin…I went out. I don’t remember 20 days.”

Fox revealed that doctors told his family that he had He suffered a “cerebral hemorrhage which led to a stroke” when he was hospitalized.

“If I don’t interfere with him now. We are going to lose him,” declared a doctor at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.

After Foxx’s surgery, his doctor told his sister Deidra Dixon, “We didn’t find out where he came from, but he… have had a stroke He may be able to make a full recovery. But it will be the worst year of his life.”

Foxx continued, “I was so dizzy from the stroke… I don’t remember 20 days. On May 4th, I woke up. When I woke up I found myself in a wheelchair. I can’t walk.”

The “Django Unchained” actor thought his stroke was a “prank” at the time, refusing to see a therapist during his recovery. Until one medical official called on Foxx to withdraw because he was sure “Jamie Foxx “don’t get the stroke.”

“Listen, you need to get this shit sorted out. These Jamie Foxx guys, stop these arrogant bastards. Drawing that line doesn’t make you who you are,” the therapist told him.

Foxx said that moment gave him a reality check as he rushed out of there and worked hard on his recovery.

During the special, Foxx repeatedly expressed his gratitude to fans for their prayers and support.

“I appreciate all the good wishes, Atlanta, for the world. I cannot thank you enough.”
