NHL fines star $100,000 for violating CBA agreement with training during Christmas break

“This team’s activities violate Section 16.5(b) of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the NHL and the NHL Players Association,” read the announcement.

According to the agreement, “no club may seek consent from players to train on those days for any reason” on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and 1 December 26, unless the game falls on the 26th.
