Nicole Kidman admits she sounded ‘bat-s— crazy’ with what she did to lose weight for her character.

During an interview for Variety’s “Actors on Actors” issue, Kidman and Zendaya discussed the physical and emotional toll certain roles can take. and the steps they had to take to reduce their character’s weight.

“It was really exhausting. Going through all those emotions, you[your body]don’t know… you know it’s fake,” the 28-year-old “Euphoria” actress explained to Kidman, who stars in the erotic thriller. “Babygirl” which is about to be released

Like when I did ‘Big Little Lies’, that bothered me physically and mentally because I couldn’t tell what was real and what wasn’t. I probably have real bruises all over my back and body.”

“I still have the scars on Rue,” says Zendaya, whose film “Challengers” and “Dune: Part Two” debuted earlier this year. referring to her character “Euphoria,” said

“My brain goes, ‘Wait a minute, you’re hurt,’ so I do things where they cleanse my chakras, say mantras, and leave the sage,” Kidman adds, “Honestly, I’ll take anything. Do I have to pretend to be something different for the people who love me?’ I think the movie was very outgoing,” Kidman continued. “I hope so. I’ve had people say it’s the most disturbing movie they’ve ever seen. To which I was like, ‘No, I’m really sorry.’

“When I read it, I was like, ‘I’ve never read a movie like this before.’ I thought it was incredibly sexy,” she later added. “It was really raw and dangerous. I can’t believe they gave us the money to make it. Sexuality (felt dangerous) that it wasn’t written for 20-year-olds. It wasn’t. It wasn’t even written for 30-year-olds.”

Kidman has a busy year with six projects in 2024, including appearances in Netflix’s “The Perfect Couple,” Paramount+ series “Lioness” and more.

“I combine my family with (my work), and because I have a musician husband (Keith Urban), he has a little bit of nomadism as well,” she added. “So he’s not someone who goes, ‘No, me. must be here I can’t move.’ My girls, I always say ‘You belong to the world. You’re a world-class kid.’ That’s what we did as a family. We travel and experience many things. And that was also a great education.”

“Babygirl” opens in theaters this December 25.
