Republicans have bashed Biden for waiting to receive the death penalty before leaving office.

We thank President Biden for this extraordinary action to spare the lives of 37 individuals facing the death penalty. Biden’s commutation of death sentences comes after he began commuting the death sentences of about 1,500 people in the largest single-day clemency.
