“I just saw the breaking news that former President Jimmy Carter had surprisingly passed away at the age of 100. I don’t know if he’s the first president to reach 100 years of age. I think he probably will be. But I don’t think.’I don’t know that,” he said. “Don’t swear to me like that because I don’t know if it’s true or not. But I think it’s like that.

“History hasn’t been great to Jimmy Carter. He wasn’t a great president. I wasn’t trying to disrespect him in any way. Remember, you are coming out of Watergate USA. The country feels that Washington is dirty and They’ve had enough career politicians, and (Richard Nixon) was the ultimate career politician. I mean, he was in Congress. He was vice president for two terms. He ran for president in 1960, for governor in ’62. He lost in ’62. He won again. He resigned from his position. And the matter ended

“So you got this guy who was an outsider, a soft-spoken, bright guy, a bean farmer from Georgia who had no ties to Washington. Honest as it comes and clean as a whistle. Win the presidency, come in, be honest. He’s done a lot of good things in his life, so there’s a lot of good things to say about this guy who’s very smart, but he’s not an effective leader. And he was not as good a president as he was.”
