Tiffany Henyard challenges after losing nomination, claims voter suppression: ‘The right to vote has been hijacked’

Dalton’s “super mayor” Tiffany Henyard is planning to fight back after losing the Democratic bid for Thornton Borough Supervisor. This is the position she currently holds.

Henyard did not advance to the December 3 caucus because she did not have a certified evaluator on her ticket. This is a requirement for all nominees.

She objected to the trial that night and then claimed “It is voter suppression.” In an interview on Thursday

on Saturday She revealed during the rally that she plans to file a lawsuit against Illinois Senator Napoleon Harris, the Democratic Party committeeman, who chose to have a caucuses instead of the general primary and win the nomination.

“What happened to us on December 3 was unfair.” Henyard said.– “We didn’t have a chance to hear.”

“On December 3, 2024, your right to vote was hijacked by your committee, Sen. Napoleon Harris,” she said.

“Have some respect for my name. Because I am loved all over Thornton,” she told supporters. Fox 32– “That’s why I keep moving forward. That is why I never give up.”

Henyard called for “Justice for the rights of voters,” which she said was taken over by political parties. She insisted the process was “rigorous” to her, claiming her supporters were not allowed in the room during the caucus meeting.

“Hundreds of qualified voters including seniors local mayor local alderman local state senator and state representatives Locked out of the venue and forced to stand in extremely cold temperatures This prevents access to the voting process in a timely and fair manner,” she accused.

Her supporters also point out that Thornton Township has not held a caucus convention in decades. And this nomination has only recently been changed.

Harris denies any wrongdoing. By insisting that people still express their opinions.

“People in Thornton Local Government Area may be new to political parties because they haven’t joined a political party in a while. But this is a tradition for other cities. Many across the state,” Harris said last week.

Fox News Digital has reached out to Henyard and Harris’ offices for comment.

Although she is not the Democratic nominee, Henyard could still be on the ballot in April for Thornton Township supervisor as a write-in candidate or as an independent.

During Friday’s city election commission meeting, she adamant“The people will vote for me.”

Henyard is currently running for re-election as mayor of Dolton as she faces a series of ongoing scandals for embezzlement and targeting political opponents.
