The announcement came after Trump said Panama was “The country that is tearing up our Panama Canal. Beyond their wildest dreams.”
In a post on Truth Social on Wednesday, Trump also accused Chinese soldiers of illegally digging the canal and “often making sure that the United States… Putting billions of dollars to “repair” money, but there will be absolutely nothing to say about “nothing”.”
In a statement about X, Cabrera thanked Trump for the nomination.

Cabrera won his county election two years ago after receiving support from Trump.
