“I saw a need. And I just thought that’s what Jesus would do,” Charlie Allsup, 9, said during an interview on “Fox & Friends First” on Thursday. “I do what Jesus would do. So I thought it would help.”

Diaz, Deputy Sheriff Ralph “Butch” Waller and Corporal Luis Paez were struck and killed by a Jeep SUV on Nov. 1, 21 while stopping their motorcycle on the shoulder of Southbound Road.

Waller and Paez died at the hospital shortly after the accident, while Diaz is in serious condition and undergoing surgery at the hospital. but later succumbed to his injuries.

Thousands of people attended a memorial service Tuesday morning in West Palm Beach. Including President Donald Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

So far, Charlie’s Lemonade Stand has raised nearly $4,000, enough to cover the Diaz family’s tuition for several months.

“When a family is faced with a tragedy like this, They don’t always know what they want,” said Charlie’s mother, Christina. “What Charlie really did He gives families the ability to focus on the next minute, the next hour, the next day and not think about all the other responsibilities, and he gives our community the ability to participate as well.”

at Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Diaz is described as someone who “Fight bravely But ultimately lost the fight due to injuries sustained in a tragic accident.” Diaz has been with the department since 2004, spending more than a decade in the motor department.

Christina, who is married to a law enforcement officer. said watching her son work on this project was very emotional.

“Parenting is hard. And I think as a parent Many times we question whether the choices we are making are right for our children. Is it ours?” she said. “And when you see something like this It makes you feel really good. It was like I had to do something right.”
