Tommy Lazzaro, former central michigan Quarterback and Sergeant Major in the U.S. Army Died tragically in a hunting accident last weekend. According to officials, he was 27 years old.

“We mourn the loss of Sergeant Major Thomas with deepest condolences. Lazzaro of the United States Army of 2nd Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group (Air),” Col. Patrick Nelson, commander of the 7th SFG(A), said in a statement to the news website.
“We will never forget his dedication, courage and commitment to protecting our freedoms. His absence leaves a void that will be felt both professionally and personally among those who were honored to work with Thomas. We offer our deepest condolences to his family, friends and comrades at this difficult time.

A 20-year-old college football player died from a sustained head injury sustained during a game.

Lazzaro played four years at Central Michigan. He appeared in five games from 2016-19. During the 2019 season, he led the Chippewas to a 6-2 record in conference play and bowl appearances. He finished his career at Central Michigan with 542 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns and 758 yards and five touchdowns.

According to Central Michigan, Lazzaro graduated with a degree in entrepreneurship in 2019 and attended Royal Thai Army to follow in the footsteps of his father and grandfather
