I live in a city where many government officials and citizens want to see me fail. When I first moved to Chicago 25 years ago, I never thought I’d express my feelings like this.

My purpose in life is to help those who are seeking Jesus in their lives. and to help youth escape a life of crime and poverty. You would think that these would be reasonable, common sense goals that anyone can achieve. But we live in a deeply ideological era where everything seems upside down at times.

People who want me to fail call themselves black allies. But their actions often result in the same song and dance. That is, it makes black people depressed and victims.

The head of the Chicago Teachers’ Union blames white supremacy for the failure of too many black children to read and do math at grade level.

Our mayor moved to close some high-performing schools. where many black children fled for a better education Because it would be unfair for blacks in underperforming schools.

Lawyers in our city let many crimes go unsolved. Let the murderer commit another murder. But they fell back on it to allow a great exploiter of black people’s pain for personal gain, Jussie Smollett, a clean slate.

And these people want to see me fail because I don’t accept their racial aspirations. And because I refuse to give power to competition.

CHICAGO DEMOCRAT sounds alarm as 55 schools report lack of proficiency in math or reading: ‘Very serious’

My crime here is I believe that everyone who crosses my path is a person with unalienable natural rights and is an American. That’s how I treat everyone. I don’t care about your dark skin. I see no virtue or crime in your skin. But I care about your soul. your character

However, corruption in any form It is one of the oldest human stories. And the answer to corruption is one of the oldest answers known to man: faith. Faith is belief in God. Faith is a leap Faith is trusting in something bigger than yourself. Faith is trust in your fellow man. Faith is good in the truest sense of the word.

That is why I am not afraid of those who want to see me fail. Faith is light, faith is hope. Faith is the power for resilience. Faith creates opportunity

For this reason I have never accepted a false race god. Over and over God has shown me the power of faith. And I am more determined than ever to give strength to this faith for as long as He allows me to walk this earth.

There is no greater sin than betraying this faith.
