The tides led to a rivalry between Michigan State and Ohio.
The unranked Wolverines, a 23-point underdog, pulled off a major upset against the 13-10 No. 2 Buckeyes in Columbus.
Michigan was on the five-yard line and Will Warren had a wide-open receiver. But he made a short pass. And it was intercepted. However, the Buckeyes couldn’t take advantage and had to punt.

Less than three minutes remain. The Wolverines also got into field goal range after a healthy run for Kalel Mullins, then Ryan Day made perhaps the biggest mistake of the contest. which haunted him throughout his tenure.
When faced with 3rd and 2nd place and a new time expires. Day didn’t like what he saw on the field. So he signaled for another time-out. Of course, you can’t call consecutive timeouts. This resulted in a five yard penalty. Giving Michigan a 1st and a goal, the Wolverines were able to lose another clock and were up 13-10 with 45 seconds left as Ohio State called a timeout.
Georgia picked up a big win in an eight-period overtime thriller, all but clinching a spot in the college football tournament.
The Buckeyes mustered just one yard. All but one game for Michigan. as they waved to Buckeye fans from the horseshoe. What made it worse was that OSU missed two field goals early in the game.
An altercation broke out after the game that took several minutes to clear up. After a Michigan player planted a Michigan State flag at midfield, much to the dismay of many Buckeyes, Mullins, a Michigan hero with more than 100 rushing yards, called the ordeal “classless.”
After winning 15 of the previous 16 matches. The Buckeyes are unbeaten in their last four. This is the first time Michigan has won four straight in the tournament since 1988 to 1991.

Now Michigan will wait and see which bowl game they will play in. Meanwhile, the Buckeyes will have interest in Saturday’s remaining games to see if they can advance to the playoffs.
