The first Thanksgiving NFL game featured a loud commercial from the past. And many people are feeling nostalgic on social media.
Oscar Mayer had an idea for Thursday’s Detroit Lions-Chicago Bears game as they ran a 50-year-old advertisement with the iconic jingle that many people know and love.
The 1974 commercial that captivated the nation had 4-year-old actor Andy Lambros fishing off a pier somewhere with a sandwich in one hand when he began to sing:

“My Bologna has one name, Oscar. My Bologna has a second name, Mayer.”
After seeing an advertisement appear during the game Many also took to social media to explain how happy they were to hear the jingle and see the commercials that dominated the market in the ’70s and ’80s.
“The best advertisement! So glad to see it on TV again!!” one X user posted.

Another added: “Wow, what a nostalgia.”
Oscar Mayer has relied on jingles in the past, including “Oh, I Wish I Was Oscar Mayer Wiener.”
But the story behind Lambros that made his moment stand out when the commercial aired in 1974 is that it wasn’t even supposed to happen in a solo performance.
