One traveler took to social media to discuss why passengers on flights didn’t dispose of their trash properly. and share solutions
The message was posted on the forum. “r/SouthwestAirlines” with the subject “r/SouthwestAirlines” “Top tips for people who leave trash in their seatback pockets.”
The user said he or she saw Flight attendants were given “shocking numbers” of people not handing out trash to collect before the plane touched down.

The user added, “I’ve done it 4 times. Twice they threw out the trash. One time the guy said, ‘I don’t own AirPods’ and the last person said it wasn’t his job.”
“It’s just a suggestion with a 50% success rate so far,” the post said.

Users took to the comments section of the post to discuss the issue.

“They have to send garbage around. It’s like collecting money at church. For the same reason Making people feel guilty about filling up their trash as they pass by solves the problem,” one person suggested.

That same person added, “Often (it’s) the same people who will complain when they get on a plane and find the trash they missed.”
One Redditor commented, “It wasn’t me, it was someone I worked with… came in to pick up the trash. A man has a bunch of newspapers in the pocket behind his seat. ‘Hey, is that rubbish? Or are you going to keep it?’ Him: ‘I’m going to keep it.’
“Alright, we’ve landed. A man walked out of a newspaper,” the person added.

The user continued, “The FA (flight attendant) is now arranging the plane, saw this, grabbed it all. Ran onto the plane and through the terminal screaming ‘You forgot your newspaper!! You said you wanted to, keep it, it must be important to you!!’ until she caught up to the man and handed his paper back to him.”

Gary Leff, a Texas tourism industry expert and author of the blog “View From the Wing,” told Fox News Digital that Garbage is often scattered in seat pockets and left on the floor.

He noted that it is important that passengers at least leave their trash for flight attendants when they come down the aisle to collect trash.
