Elijah Baskin, who plays Bea Kurtchman in the top-rated film, joins “America’s Newsroom” to discuss the film’s significance. And why was the film’s meaning so personal to him as an immigrant fleeing dictatorship?

“I came here nearly half a century ago. And I thought I had arrived in heaven,” Baskin told Griff Jenkins on Friday. “And then… Gerald Ford was president. And there were four years under President Carter. And that’s four very different years… The Shah of Iran was betrayed by Carter and replaced by Khomeini. The situation was hostage and he started treating Israel like the enemy… And inflation is very high. I remember inflation was about 10,12%.”
“Every time you go to the store. It will become more and more expensive. And I thought maybe I made a mistake coming here,” he continued. “I had a dream, and suddenly… what happened? Then came Reagan. The whole atmosphere in the country changes and… you understand that things will get better and life will get a lot better and, it gets a lot better and… that’s how I feel now.”

“Reagan,” the first full-length film about the life of former President Ronald Reagan, is an Amazon bestseller. The show was later released on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital earlier this month.
The film, starring Dennis Quaid as the 40th President, was released on Blu-ray on November 19 and rose to the top of the United States’ best-selling Blu-ray chart. Amazon over the weekend

Baskin, who wrote an editorial with Fox News last year, argued that “discredited Marxist ideology” had infiltrated American life. He viewed his role in “Reagan” as a warning against Marxist rule.

“Reagan as a young man met Kurtschman. which is really a character and told him that everything he read in the newspapers was not true. Because Stalin was a great manipulator of public opinion,” Baskin said. “He invited many famous writers to Russia and treated them like kings. He showed them how wonderful life was under socialism… Heaven and… at the same time People suffer.”
“They are hungry…People have been arrested for saying things that the government doesn’t approve of. It was a terrible time,” he continued.

Baskin argued that Stalin used fear and manipulation to control himself. Which is why he influenced and fed Western writers in the Soviet Union. to spread fraudulent messages to the rest of the world
“Of course, these naive celebrity Westerners don’t know how ordinary people live their lives. Stalin showed them only artistic scenes of life in the USSR. and allowed them to interact only with specially trained personnel,” he wrote in Operation Ed. “While in Moscow They are being closely watched. and are not allowed to deviate from the pre-planned route in the slightest.”
“If they could see the true condition of my countrymen. They would have nightmares,” he continued. “Millions of people are dying of hunger. Sent to a labor camp or were brutally executed for being disloyal to the government.”

However, the film also features the love story between the 40th president and his wife, Nancy.
Singer-songwriter Kathy Lee Gifford, who met President Reagan and his wife; co-wrote songs for the film in an effort to showcase their unrivaled bond.
“You can tell when you’re with them that they’re crazy and crazy devoted to each other. It was just a beautiful thing to see. Truly a beautiful thing to see,” she said on Fox & Friends on Friday. “It’s a romantic, sorry song.”
Co-host Carley Shimkus read an excerpt from a letter that Reagan wrote to his wife on their 31st wedding anniversary. “I love you more than you,” she read. “I can’t live without you. You are life for me When you leave I’m waiting for your return. So that I can start my life over again.”
Gifford insists that everyone longs for the unconditional love that Ronald and Nancy shared.
“Everyone wishes to be loved like that,” Gifford said. “We were not created to be alone. We were not created We are not only created to be close to others; But there is also closeness to people. One who loves you with all my heart for you. And you love him back the same way.”
