In conjunction with her newly released memoir, Cher is looking back in time to reflect on her career. Reveal the secret and addressed rumors that she was “difficult” to work with.
In a new interview with The Sunday TimesThe “Goddess of Pop” spoke candidly about the two projects she worked on as an actress. During which she did not mock the film’s director.
“There are only two directors I don’t like: Peter Bogdanovich,” with whom she worked on “Mask,” and “the guy from ‘The Muppets,'” referring to Frank Oz, who once was previously assigned to direct her 1990 film “Mermaids.”
CHER ‘shocked’ when she discovers legal name decades after birth certificate error
When referring to Oz Cher recalled giving an ultimatum on the set of the 1990 film, which was ultimately directed by Richard Benjamin.
“I said are you going or are you going? Which is a shame because he’s a really good director. But he had something about me,” Cher said. “He would say, ‘At least my wife loves me!’”
A representative for Oz did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
Cher also worked with the late Bogdanovich, with whom she worked in 1985. He said before his death in 2022 that Cher was “the hardest actor” he had ever worked with.
“He’s an a**hole,” Cher said of Bogdanovic. “He’s not good with girls. In this movie And he was very arrogant. I really don’t like him.”
“She doesn’t trust anyone. Especially men,” Bogdanovic tell the vulture Year 2019 of his Nang Rong “She doesn’t like men. That’s why she named it Cher. She dropped her father’s name, Sarkisian,” he added. The singer, born Cherilyn Sarkisian, officially requested to change her legal name in 1979 to just Cher.
But Bogdanovich can accept that Cher’s disdain may be because he despises her.
“She always looked like someone was cheating on her. One day I came to the set and I said, ‘You’re making me depressed. You always look bad and act like someone stole from you or something,’” Bogdanovich recalls.
Cher remembers her time on set differently, telling The Sunday Times: “He came in and said, ‘Cher, where do you think we should shoot this scene?’ And I said the kitchen works. good Why don’t we do that again? The next morning he arrived on set. Eating an egg sandwich and started screaming that he wouldn’t let me direct this movie.” I was nobody. He could cut me off at any time,” she recalled.
“Oh, he’s a pig.”

“Ask anyone, I am very easy to work with,” Cher continued.
“I am not arbitrary in what I say. Because it’s okay to do what the director wants until you say it. Meryl (Streep) said that if the director wants you to do something you don’t like, then you say: Yes, yes, I will. do that And you probably won’t even notice. I’ve worked with Bob Altman, Norman Jewison…. Really great directors I respect, I know when to listen.”
