Shedeur Sanders responds to Father Deion’s claim that Colorado has become ‘Drunk with success’


Now Colorado needs help if they want to have a chance at competing in the College Football Playoff.

The 16th-seeded Buffaloes control their own destiny in the bracket entering Saturday. But it fell to Kansas 37-21 and now faces an uphill climb.

It’s been an impressive season for Colorado, which is 8-3 after winning four games last season. and won only one game last year.

But head coach Deon Sanders said his team seemed a little too excited.

“We started to smell ourselves a little bit,” Sanders said after the game. “That’s what I told our team. We are drunk on success. We are drunk on many articles. And let’s say we are this. And let’s say we are like that. And we didn’t play CU football, so we got our butts kicked.”

Chedeur, defender, Deion’s son. You don’t have to agree with this sentiment.

“Personally, I’m just an overconfident person,” Shedeur said. “So I don’t see that with other people and say they’re overconfident. I’m not sure. Really…we all prepare our work and do that. So whatever people do on the personal side, i.e. on the psychological side, you cannot know. We will never be able to know. I focus on a lot of other things besides how someone thinks all the time.”

When asked how a buffalo can be “conscious,” he referenced his father’s comments. Shedeer replied, “I don’t know. No comment.”
