Republicans hold a majority in the House of Representatives. Although the size of that narrow margin won’t be known until the final three undecided races are called.
This week, The Associated Press called Ohio’s 9th Congressional District for Democrat Marcy Captur and Alaska’s at-large district for party entrepreneur Nick Begich. Republican which flipped the seat, ousting Democratic Rep. Mary Sattler Petola.
The three House races, which had not yet been announced as of Thursday, are in California and Iowa.
The balance of power now stands at 219 seats for Republicans and 213 seats for Democrats.

1. California’s 13th Congressional District
Republican John Duarte is leading former Democratic state Rep. Adam Gray in California’s 13th Congressional District. But the highly competitive race still had not been called as of Thursday morning.
About 96% of the votes have been counted, and Duarte has a lead of just 50.1% to 49.9%. The two candidates have a difference of just 351 votes, at 101,217 to 100,866.

2. California’s 45th Congressional District
Democratic nominee Derek Tran Leading Republican Rep. Michelle Steel in the 45th District, Steel led by a few hundred votes late last week, but Tran is now up 480 votes for a total of 156,576 of the district’s 156,096. Steel on Friday morning
More than 97% of votes were counted for the district.

3. Iowa’s 1st Congressional District
Incumbent Republican Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks has a lead of less than 1 percentage point over challenger Christina Bohannan, with 99% of votes counted. Miller-Meeks’ lead was just over 800 votes as of Friday.

A recount, which Miller-Meeks says is a waste of taxpayer money, is underway. And election observers of the House of Representatives Executive Committee were sent to the state to observe the process.
Bohannan has requested a recount in his bid to unseat Miller-Meeks. The Associated Press has not yet called the race because the margin is close enough to warrant a recount.
Miller-Meeks declared victory and said she was confident in her leadership.
