News of Bill Belichick interviewing for the vacant North Carolina Tar Heels head coach position took the football world by surprise last week. But one of his former students didn’t see him actually taking the job.
Tom Brady joins former New England Patriots teammates Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski to discuss Belichick’s interview with UNC during “Fox NFL Sunday,” where he was blunt. who doesn’t believe Belichick will play college football next season
“There are things he can do. And he’s clearly very good at it. and even show off his personality. But getting out there on the recruiting trail and dealing with these college kids,” Brady said.

The recruiting aspect is something Brady believes Belichick doesn’t want to deal with. As he jokingly created a situation where his old coach spoke to the recruit.
“’Listen, do you really want to come here?’” Brady said, playing Belichick. “’I mean, we really don’t need you. But I guess you can come, we’ll figure it out if you play.’”
It’s not just Brady who feels Belichick doesn’t translate well to college ball. While Edelman and Gronkowski both gave chances.

“Can you imagine NIL and all that nonsense,” Gronkowski said.
Edelman added: “Can you imagine Bill on the couch recruiting 18 year olds?”

Belichick after not accepting a head coaching job in the NFL after he and the Patriots parted ways earlier this year. He has been in the sports media space throughout this season.
However, according to Inside Carolina, Belichick interviewed for the job Mack Brown previously held with the Tar Heels.
Brown announced he would be leaving the program before the team’s final regular season game against NC State.
There are a few NFL coaching vacancies that will need to be filled after this regular season, as the New Orleans Saints, New York Jets, and Chicago Bears all fired their head coaches in the middle of the season. Many others were able to open their minds as well. It depends on how these final games shake out.

It will be interesting to see where Belichick’s name pops up once the season ends in the NFL, but it looks like he might want his first collegiate gig. It depends on how his talks with the Tar Heels go.
