In a later post, he said: “Mexico will ban people from going to our southern border effective immediately. This will go a long way in stopping illegal invasions of the United States. Thank you!!!”
In a post on X, Sheenbaum said she spoke with Trump on the phone. and the two discussed “Strengthening cooperation on security issues” and discussions were “excellent,” Reuters reported.

Trump also threatened to slap additional 10% tariffs on China on the massive amounts of fentanyl entering the U.S. from Mexico.
