A Connecticut man faces multiple charges in the deaths of a mother and her infant son. He allegedly killed them for money the woman owed him.
New details have been released regarding the arrest of 23-year-old Lance “Macho” Morales in November. After his first appearance in a Hartford courtroom Connecticut on Monday
Morales is accused of killing 20-year-old Jessiah Mercado and her 4-month-old son, Messiah Diaz, in a shooting on Nov. 1, 19.

The arrest warrant alleges that Morales opened fire on the car the two men were traveling in. Because Mercado owed him $400 for the use of his Mazda SUV. The Associated Press reports
He charged her $100 a day to rent the car. And there were reports that she was late in paying.
Before the shooting incident in broad daylight An exchange took place between Morales and Mercado. She told him her infant son was in the SUV. One witness told police that Morales said he was not interested, the AP reported.
Two other people were in the car during the brazen crime. But only one person was injured.

Morales’ firearms are believed to be fully automatic, according to the arrest warrant.
A massive manhunt for Morales lasted four days after the shooting. And he was finally arrested in Puerto Rico on November 1, 23. He was extradited to Connecticut on Saturday.

Morales has been charged with murder. physical harm and two counts of other crimes, and is facing life in prison without the possibility of parole if convicted.
He was ordered held on $5 million bail during a court hearing Monday.
