Aaron Rodgers says Jets’ season finale vs. Dolphins could be his last NFL game.

Aaron Rodgers admitted Sunday’s game might be the last time he plays in the NFL.

Rodgers was questioned by reporters about New York’s final game of the season. Could the Jets and Miami Dolphins be the last game of his career on Wednesday?

“Yes, absolutely,” Rodgers replied.

Rodgers has not made any final decisions. But he said he will make a decision before he begins free agency in March. Rodgers is under contract with the Jets next season. and is expected to have a cap hit of $23 million. However, the Jets are also preparing to hire a new head coach and general manager during the offseason. He added that he expects the new coach and designated general manager to make a quick decision regarding his future with the team.

“I don’t think we’re going that far,” Rodgers said. “There will be a regime change here. At least with GM no matter what they do. I’m sure I’ll answer the phone or talk. and go from there.”

Rodgers missed nearly his entire first season with the Jets last year after he suffered a season-ending hamstring injury in the Jets’ Week 1 game against the Buffalo Bills. This year, though, Rodgers is having a healthy season. But the Jets are now 4-12.

“I am disappointed with the performance of both myself and the team. But I’m really grateful. for this occasion If I feel good about coming back And they want another run on this. It would be great, but I’m not naive about the situation we’re in.”

This season has been taxing on Rodgers as well. After he was ejected four times in a game against Buffalo Bills last Sunday He became the most sacked quarterback in NFL history. He was sacked 568 times in 247 career games, three more than Tom Brady, who was sacked 565 times in his career. Russell Wilson is also among the most sacked quarterbacks in NFL history. There too with 556 sacks.

The Jets quarterback has been sacked 37 times this season. He led the league twice in sacks in his career. Both when he was with the Green Bay Packers.

However, Rodgers considers his final two years in New York to be the best of his life.

“I really mean thank you. They were the best two years of my life,” Rodgers said. “That was a shift in perspective that happened at one point in the recovery process last year.
