Katherine Waterston isn’t a big fan of artificial intelligence.
“Like any other technology, It has the potential for incredible innovation and a real threat. And it clearly needs to be heavily regulated,” she told Fox News Digital.
Waterston starred in the horror film earlier this year “Afraid,” about an AI home assistant that goes rogue and wreaks havoc on a family’s life.
What is artificial intelligence (AI)?
“We are not keeping up with the rate at which it is developing,” she continued, “and that is a real concern across my industry. But in general.”
She added the simple word “scary” to sum up her feelings.
Waterston currently stars in Paramount+’s “The Agency” with Showtime, a spy thriller co-starring Michael. Fassbender and Richard Gere

“It’s… a character actor. Amazing story An amazing group of directors involved (writer) Butterworths. It was just an embarrassment of riches and a no-brainer,” she said of signing on for her role as a CIA agent.

Adapted from the French drama Le Bureau des Legendes, the series is a spy thriller featuring Fassbender’s character. who is a CIA agent who has been ordered to abandon his undercover life and return to London Station. But when the love of his life reappears Their romance is rekindled, and his career, identity, and mission are in jeopardy, along with his heart.

–I begin with this chapter. And I was fascinated by the take on the world of espionage,” Waterston said. “We saw a lot of charming takes. Or will we see a cynical take? And I feel like we’re striking a fair balance here with skepticism: cynicism is nothing but good. And doubt is that there is no perfect truth. And that unlocked a lot of story and a lot of character development.”

“Getting to the core of something is challenging and a bit mysterious. Everyone is difficult to understand. And everyone has conflicts in their walk. And people tell the truth from one side of their mouth and lie from the other all the time. It feels like there’s a lot to play with here and a lot of possible stories here.”
Waterston was also fascinated by the history of women in the CIA as she prepared for her role.

“I totally fell in love with the women in the CIA. There were some amazing books. I thought a book that just came out this year called ‘The Sisterhood’ that I liked took me through the history of women in the CIA, so that’s how it turned out. It was very helpful for me in character development. It’s just who you have to be to get there. And then who do you have to be to climb the ranks,” she said.

“And for various reasons. Various things I know might be in store for my character. It was important for me in this first season to really understand. What must be done well in this environment? And be good at your job.”
