Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete lets players control their own avatar. and tasked them with managing and furnishing their own campsites, camper vans, and cabins instead of the city. You will befriend animal characters who visit nearby locations and fulfill requests by delivering locally sourced materials from the area. Much of the game remains exactly the same as it was seven years ago. Back when I played this game like crazy every night. But one notable difference is the introduction of subscription content in this version. Gone are the microtransactions! That’s great news, especially if you can tolerate spending money on the game. Because with just one payment You will have access to everything.

And what exactly is “it all”? You can enjoy the Happy Helper Plan, Furniture and Fashion Plan, and Merry Memories Plan, all of which add something unique to the game. But you must pay an ongoing membership fee. Now you can enjoy your own camping assistant. Design and save layouts Get more storage space and even access your own diary. All this without paying a monthly fee.

Back in the day it was a bit confusing trying to figure out what you wanted. It’s pretty expensive too! It’s great that we can now access all these features with just one payment.

However, many of these subscription offerings feel undercooked. You received a notebook. But you can’t write it down. You can buy stickers and stamp them. But the stickers are single-use. It almost looks really neat. But the tent pegs didn’t go into the ground at all.

The main appeal of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete, though, is the inclusion of previously subscribed content. But there are a few new additions to add a social element to try to replace the removed content. These come in the form of Camper Cards and Whistle Passes.

Unfortunately, it’s not your friend who’s playing with you. It was just their avatar standing there. It’s not exactly a strong multiplayer experience, however, it’s at least nice to be able to run through an area and greet whoever you’ve added.

This is a step back from how the game originally worked. Players can visit each other’s campsites. Buy things from the market box and give them things This function is gone.

I played Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp when the game first came out. I’ve been playing for many years. Be diligent in doing daily tasks for my villagers. Instead of scrolling through the devastation in bed at the time. It turned out to be a late night for the Pocket Camp newspaper.

As many years have passed Pocket Camp’s real-world currency content has also been maximized. I painstakingly worked my way through scenario after scenario where all the best content was locked behind paid Fortune Cookies, loot boxes with a high risk of being linked to duplicate items. ‘This is the nature of the gacha content.’

I dropped in right after the subscription plan was introduced. Too much pressure for this camper Veteran Pocket Camp players are reminded of the simplicity of the game’s earlier days, when your late-night mobile game of choice wasn’t trying to squeeze dollars out of you every time.

And now I have Pocket Camp Complete, which is a nice relief for those of us who want simpler mobile games again. However, it sits in this strange position. It feels like a return to the feel of the 2017 game, which could be a nice trip down memory lane. But it’s basically the same experience.

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete does a great job of taking the freemium version of the 2017 game and offering a more complete package. Even though it comes at a premium price. For those who never enjoyed camping when it first launched. This could very well be your next mobile gaming addiction, but for me, this isn’t enough to warrant returning with the same fervor I did seven years ago. Although this collector goblin is glad she kept all her digital knick-knacks in the game. But it was time for this weary camper to find a new place to rest.

This complete Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp review is based on the code provided by the publisher. The game is available now on iOS and Android devices for an introductory price of $9.99 USD. On January 30, 2025, the price will increase to $19.99 USD.
