Nearly 25 years after infamously resigning as head coach of the New York Jets, Bill Belichick is reconsidering the job.
In 2000, Belichick was about to take over as the next head coach of the New York Jets. But during the introductory press conference He resigned and wrote it on a napkin.
Belichick referred to questions he had about ownership of his decision. He then went to the New England Patriots and made life hell for Jets fans for the next two decades.

There has been speculation online that Belichick will likely return to the New York Giants, where he won two Super Bowls as defensive coordinator. He coached Tar Heels star Lawrence Taylor before becoming the second pick in the 1981 NFL Draft.
It is widely speculated that Belichick is worried about Woody Johnson owning the team. Johnson is taking a break from the workforce after serving as Donald Trump’s ambassador to the United Kingdom. During Trump’s first term as president Belichick served as the team’s defensive coordinator for three seasons under Bill Parcells, who was also general manager.
