Black Harris officials accused of leading campaign of abuse and “Total racial discrimination” in a scathing new article outlining many of the allegations about the now-defunct campaign.
The New York Times published a story on Sunday titled “Alarmed Harris staffer goes rogue to reach black and Latino voters” The story details the covert operations of some campaign officials who ignored orders from higher ups. and manage various matters myself after becoming frustrated with the campaign’s lack of adequate effort to reach black voters in Philadelphia.
“Many employees feel that Philadelphia’s racially diverse neighborhoods are being neglected.” Times reading storiesIt added that “Black campaign officials and political activists said campaign leaders dismissed concerns that Democrats were holding their base against their will.”

When the election is near The campaign’s leadership’s frustration on this issue has reached a boiling point. That’s according to more than 30 officials interviewed by The Times.
“After the loss of Mrs. Harris A Black campaign worker called to talk about a job opportunity with political strategist and podcast host Angela Rye. The conversation quickly turned as they shared their anger about how the campaign had treated them and how their field operations were underfunded and happened to be in several battleground states. According to call records obtained by The Times,” the article read.
Some officials were reported to be upset that the campaign was not hiring people of color or not contracting enough Black or Latino-owned consulting firms.

The Times story cited employees making accusations at several campaign offices in Philadelphia. “Dirty and lacking basic items such as tables, chairs, and cleaning products. and printers.” Some campaign offices targeting mostly black communities were moved to upscale areas. That’s far from the area they were assigned to serve, according to the Times.
The Harris campaign reportedly conducted an internal survey which concluded that “Black officials are frustrated with campaign leadership. and feel their ideas are being ignored at a much higher rate than their peers,” according to the Times.
“Some people complain about outright racial discrimination. Campaign leaders were informed of the survey results,” the article said.
Authorities were reportedly afraid to reveal these allegations to the media. out of fear that it would harm their future job opportunities, The Times cited. A post-election full staff call organized by lead deputy campaign manager Quentin Fulks. They allegedly told officials that talking to the media would harm their careers.
It was reported that Harris campaign spokesperson Lauren Hitt Fulks denied that “Use that language or tone of voice when calling. and said he had advised his deputies not to say anything in a moment of anger that could hurt himself or the vice president. ” the Times noted.
This article features Quentin James, founder of Collective PAC, a group focused on elected officials and Black voters working with the Harris campaign. which revealed that “Frenzied officials in Philadelphia, Detroit and North Carolina called him during the final week of the convention. They said they did not have enough money to provide food or water to the volunteers.”

Still, “Harris campaign leaders appear to be in denial about the situation in Philadelphia,” the Times wrote.
“Late on election night, campaign chair Jane O’Malley Dillon Write an email to all staffers stating that the Harris campaign has ‘Excessive turnout expectations,’ especially in areas with no non-white voters.”
But it was Trump who overperformed key demographics in Pennsylvania. It increases his numbers in areas that are predominately black and Latino. This helped him win key battleground states and ultimately become president on election night.
On the contrary Harris received 30,000 fewer votes in Philadelphia than President Biden did in 2020.
Some Democratic operations and campaign officials still disagree that it was a lack of black voter outreach or a lack of relevant messaging from the candidates.

Kellan White, senior adviser to Harris’ campaign in Pennsylvania told The Times that “This campaign has done more in Philadelphia to reach Black and Latino voters than any other campaign. that has been done for a long time The problem isn’t that we haven’t knocked on the door. At these doors — we knock on many doors. The problem is that message doesn’t connect — and that’s where those of us in the party spend time and energy trying to understand why, when we knock on these doors, what we, we have to say, doesn’t resonate with the right. Enough elections.”
Former Harris campaign officials did not respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
