An illegal immigrant is accused of shooting an Orthodox Jewish man multiple times while on his way to a Chicago synagogue. was found dead of an apparent suicide in his cell.
Sidi Mohamed Abdullahi, 22, died by suicide after hanging himself in his prison cell on Saturday. The Cook County Sheriff’s Office said Fox 32–
“There was no indication of a risk of suicide prior to the incident,” the sheriff’s office said. specified in the statement
Abdallahi, who is a Mauritanian, was discovered by Cook County Jail officials during a routine security check conducted Saturday at 3:30 p.m.

Officers attempted life-saving measures after finding Abdullahi unresponsive. He was sent to the mountains. Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The sheriff’s office said there was no indication of foul play.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office is conducting an autopsy to determine his cause and manner of death.
Abdullahi is jailed in connection with an Oct. 1, Sept. 26 shooting near the 6800 block of North Washtenaw Avenue in which he wounded an Orthodox Jewish man. The 39-year-old wore a kippa as he headed to the synagogue.
The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the shoulder and was taken to a hospital before being released after treatment.

when first responders arrived to assist the victims. They were allegedly met with gunfire from Abdullahi. after he was identified as a suspect. Chicago police responded to the fire and seriously injured Abdullahi. He was later arrested and hospitalized with multiple gunshot wounds. No first responders were injured in the incident.
Abdullahi has been charged with several offenses. including terrorism hate crimes The charges include six counts of attempted first-degree murder and seven counts of aggravated use of a firearm against a police officer or firefighter.
