Country star Walker Hayes surprised three Waffle House employees in Tennessee. When he gives good advice for them in celebrating the holiday season.
The 44-year-old singer was joined by entrepreneur and social media influencer Lexi Burke at the restaurant chain’s location in Nashville. They gave employees a $1,200 tip after the meal.
Burke, a former waitress known as the “Serial Tipper,” collects donations from her followers to provide helpful advice to restaurant workers. Burke launched an online movement in May 2020 to support food service workers after starting There is an outbreak of COVID-19. And she has continued to try ever since.
“Honestly, I’m so glad Lexy included me in the generosity she instilled,” Hayes told Southern Living magazine.

“Tip these people big,” he replied with a smile.

Burke is seen talking to a waiter. who said she also works at a hospital The waiter was surprised by Hayes’ appearance at the restaurant, telling Burke, “Wow, he walked in while I was at work. I’ve never seen anyone so nice.”

Another employee played Hayes’ “Fancy Like Christmas” on the jukebox while the singer ordered food with a waiter.
“I’m trying to find this item on the menu. It’s called a Hayes Waffle,” he said. “It’s basically a waffle. But two eggs lay too easily. And it has bacon and cheese inside and folded like a taco.”
“A customer came in and took that,” the waiter told him.
“If they get that. That’s what I want,” Hayes said.
After finishing eating Burke then told the waitress and two other workers about her continued tipping.
“I do this like every holiday season on social media. I would ask people to send extra change,” she said. “That’s what they did. And my friend Walker wants to be involved as well.”
Burke told the astonished employees that he had given them $400 each, for a total of $1,200.
“What?!” Hayes said before confirming that Burke was serious.
“Oh my god,” one worker said. To which Hayes replied, “I know!”

“This comes from so many people who just want to make sure you sleep well,” Burke said. “Lots of love.”

“Can I hug you?” the waiter asked.
The two hugged each other and the waiter said, “I’ll hug you all. Thank you so much.”
At the end of the video The employee addressed Burke’s entourage and shouted, “Thank you!”
Before skyrocketing to fame with the success of 2021’s viral hit “Fancy Like,” Hayes struggled for more than a decade as an aspiring singer-songwriter working at a Costco in Nashville in between. A July 2023 interview with Fox News Digital Hayes detailed his battle with alcoholism.
