Deion Sanders of Colorado warns players about smoking before bowl games

“If I smell smoke on any floor. Or if I’m told there’s someone smoking on that floor. That will be your last,” Sanders said.

The Colorado players started laughing, but Coach Prime made it clear he was serious.

“I’m just trying to tell you – it will be your last. That will be your last time. I hope it’s good because that will be your last,” he said. “I promise that if I smell smoke on your clothes at practice in the morning, at breakfast, whatever. That will be your last time.”

Sanders takes his first football divisional bowl game seriously.

The Buffaloes will be entering their first bowl game since the 2020 season, which was cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic. But the football program hasn’t won a bowl game since 2004, when Gary Barnett was still on the sideline for the Buffaloes.

Colorado has two players that are sure to be top-five picks in the upcoming NFL Draft in Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders. Because of this, Colorado carries disability insurance in case a player is injured in the Alamo Bowl. and cause damage to the stock.

“We have a lot of players that we can draft. They received a draft grade. They have disability (insurance) for the entire season. We want to make sure that if something happens They will compensate,” Sanders said Monday.
