Georgia shooting leaves one dead at military base in ‘isolated’ incident: officials

The active shooter situation at Fort Eisenhower military base in Augusta, Georgia, on Saturday. One person died, officials said.

The base went into lockdown shortly before 9:00 a.m. local time on Saturday. The announcement was made on social media to more than 110,000 people living at the base.

“If you are in danger. Take appropriate action!” the message read on Facebook.

The suspect is in custody and local and state law enforcement are investigating the incident.
