Texas officials are expanding their search for an 8-year-old girl who went missing after a car crash early Christmas Eve. Currently considering “Other target areas”
Authorities in Sherman, Texas, said an SUV carrying six people from Durant, Oklahoma, was swept away by floodwaters on Highway 75 and crashed into. drainage ditch at approximately 9:30 a.m.
Four days later, Sherman Police Chief Jason Jeffcoat said 8-year-old Clara Robinson was still missing.
A high school basketball coach lost his 8-year-old daughter after a Christmas Eve tragedy.
“Search teams are continuing their efforts to locate the Oak Creek post. Near where the first rescue attempt was made,” Jeffcoat said, “there are also search teams 10 miles of Post Oak Creek and Choctaw Creek.”

Will Robinson, father of four including Clara, died during the accident while trying to help a 5-year-old girl who was unresponsive when paramedics arrived.
The girl was later reunited with her family. In what fire officials call “The greatest blessing in this tragedy.”
“The father (had) a little girl in his arms once during an event. And later they were not together. It looked like he was definitely trying to help her,” said Bart Bowman of Sherman Fire Rescue.
“One of our friends found a little girl underwater and pulled her out. and handed her over to one of our paramedics who was with him,” Bowman said. “That paramedic took her to an ambulance. And they did CPR on the way to the hospital…for nearly drowning like that. It was truly remarkable that she was released the next day without any problems. That was a huge blessing in light of this tragedy.”
Community members told Fox 4 Will Robinson is the girls’ basketball coach at Durant High School in Oklahoma.
“He always brought CJ (his daughter Clara) to practice and she would always play with us,” Kinly Hill said.
Players noted that Robinson is a very understanding coach and said he did his best to keep them positive.

“He was so patient with us girls,” player Emery Morse said. “I don’t think I can remember a time when he raised his voice at us in anger. … (He and CJ) were like nuts. two seeds in a pod They practice We were together all the time and CJ would just run up to him or ask for a snack.”
