Helldiver 2 Fans are waiting patiently. I’ve been eager (and impatient) for alien shooters to add new enemy factions, and Arrowhead Studios has finally done just that. Illuminate is now available in-game after a surprise free update called Omens of Tyranny, and It adds more than just the infamous blue aliens to the series.

The colony’s roads are overrun by Voteless and Illuminate, meaning players will have to fight in close quarters in back alleys and intersections. This leaves them with no way to escape if something bad happens. One new tool in the arsenal is the Fast Recon Vehicle, or “FRV,” that allows up to four players to ride together. Omens of Tyranny is bringing a big patch. The biggest improvement? You can now rejoin your final match after your accident. This is something that is confusing to many people. Numerous weapon buffs, and Helldiver armor and sentry guns now have more flame retardant. Therefore, it takes longer to ignite. All of the changes seem consistent with the studio’s recent campaign to calibrate the game to prioritize fun over perfect balance.
Arrowhead Studios also announced new Helldiver 2– Themed DualSense controllers– Priced at $75 and will be available starting December 20th.
