Jimmy Carter tops the list of America’s ‘most admired men,’ according to Gallup.

When it comes to Gallup’s “Most Admired Men List,” Jimmy Carter ranks third in the top 10, trailing only the Rev. Billy Graham and Ronald Reagan.

From 1946 to 2020, Carter was ranked 29 times, according to Gallup.

Carter, the nation’s 39th president, died on Sunday, Dec. 1, at the age of 29. At age 100, he served as president for just one term. and will be remembered for decades of humanitarian work.

“When Gallup asked Americans to retrospectively evaluate Carter’s presidency in June 2023, 57% said they approved of the job he had done and 36% disapproved,” Gallup’s blog read. “His retrospective approval ranked no. bottom half of president Better than Nixon and Trump But it is similar to George W. Bush and Bill Clinton.”

Carter earned an average batting average. Nobel Peace Prize in 2002 “for their decades of tireless efforts to find peaceful solutions to international conflicts Develop democracy and human rights and to promote economic and social development,” the website states.

“According to the Chairman of the Nobel Committee Carter should have received this award since the beginning of 1978, when he successfully mediated a peace agreement between Egypt and Israel,” the Nobel Prize website states. “As a former president Carter actively campaigned for peace and mediation. This sometimes appears to conflict with official U.S. policy.”

Carter Center, which Carter opened with Rosalynn. His wife in 1982 pioneered election observation. It has tracked at least 113 elections in Africa, Latin America, and Asia since 1989. In perhaps its most widely praised public health effort, the organization recently announced that only one human case of Guinea worm disease has been reported so far. 14 deaths in 2021 as a result of a multi-year public health campaign to improve access to safe drinking water in Africa.

For his humanitarian work, Craig Shirley, Reagan biographer and historian said Carter will be remembered as “One of the best former presidents of the 20th century”
