Indiana lawmakers are looking at an all-out effort to keep biologically male athletes in boys’ and men’s sports.
Current state law, which kicks in in 2022, bans biological males from playing with girls from kindergarten through high school. This week, Republican lawmakers Michelle Davis, Chris Jeter, Joanna King and Robert Heaton filed a draft. Legislation to expand ban on college teams
“To ensure that the playing field is level. It is important that girls compete with girls. and boys must compete against boys,” Davis wrote in a statement to Indie Star– “As a mother and a lawmaker I wrote this bill because I heard directly from Hoosier parents who want to ensure that female athletes have a fair shot at competition and recognition.”
