MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle described a moment during a May 2023 interview with President Biden in which his team immediately tried to shut down the interview after she asked what impact his son Hunter Biden’s indictment might have. How was his presidency?

When the interview aired in May 2023, Ruhle asked about Hunter at the end of the interview and heard the president respond, “First of all, my son has done nothing wrong. I trust him I have faith in him. It affects Chairman by making me feel proud of him.”
Before she could ask about Hunter, footage from MSNBC showed his team trying to end the interview after Ruhle asked about the increase in hate crimes. Gun violence and more Biden raised his hand and indicated he wanted to answer questions.
MSNBC appears to not be airing Cross Talk or the Biden team’s attempt to halt the interview after Ruhle asked about the president’s son.
The president apparently complained that “negative” coverage was considered to be the reason for his poor poll numbers during the interview.

“All they have heard is negative news for three years now. Everything was negative,” Biden responded at the time. “I am not criticizing the media. Ruhle also revealed during the interview that she had called President Donald Trump. Trump before the election to try to get him to interview them.
