The Sacramento Kings firing Mike Brown on Friday left a bad taste in some NBA coaches. And they’ve been showing just as much in the past few days.
The Kings replaced Brown with Doug Christie, Sacramento dropped to 13-18 on Thursday. This led to the decision to fire Brown, however, with the head coach being fired didn’t sit well with others.

Sacramento’s front office informed Brown of the decision by phone as he was driving to the team plane, ESPN reported.
Michael Malone of the Denver Nuggets, Steve Kerr of the Golden State Warriors and JB Bickerstaff of the Detroit Pistons are among those. in those who come out to speak

“I’m not surprised at all Mike. Brown was fired. Because I got fired by the same person,” Malone said after the Nuggets lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Via ESPN– “And what really annoys me? Kerr told reporters he was “disappointed” by the shooting.
“Mike is a good friend. He’s a great coach. I’ve talked to him. And we all know that’s the nature of business,” Kerr said in a statement. NBC Sports Bay Area– “But it seems shocking when a guy was the unanimous coach of the year a year and a half ago.”
Bickerstaff echoed Malone’s words. Calling the shooting “classless”
“He deserves better than that. You can decide whatever you want. We understand that,” he added. The Athletic– “But how you treat people matters. And it was really disappointing to see the coach. The man you care about A man who you know how good and talented he is. Treated that way, you know, and it’s disappointing. People will have no idea how to treat people as human beings and show them the respect they deserve. Brown is in the middle of his third season with the Kings. He led them to the playoffs in his first year in 2022-23. He’s 107-89 as head coach.
