NFL Assuring fans that Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans will be an experience “Safe and fun” after a terrorist attack in the historic city on Wednesday morning left at least 10 people dead and dozens injured.
The tragedy occurred in the early hours of New Year’s Day. when a driver drove through a crowd of people on Bourbon Street in what the FBI is actively investigating as a “Acts of terrorism”

The attack raised security concerns across the city. college football officials to postpone the Sugar Bowl game, scheduled for later that night at the Superdome, less than a mile from the arena.

The league released a statement following the tragedy on Wednesday. To share condolences for the victims and their families. and to reassure fans of our commitment to ensuring their safety for the big game in just over a month’s time.
“We are deeply saddened by news of the serious events in New Orleans. We offer our support to the victims. New Orleans community and everyone affected,” the statement said.
“The NFL and local host committees have been working with local, state and federal agencies over the past two years. and has developed a comprehensive security plan. These planning sessions will continue as they do for all major NFL events. And we are confident that participants will We wish you a safe and enjoyable Super Bowl experience.”

OFFICERS SHOOK OFF SUGAR BOWL AFTER HORRIBLE ATTACK ON BOURBON STREET
After the attack Officers asked questions about the safety of pedestrians and tourists. Especially related to the use of support poles.
At a press conference on Wednesday afternoon, New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell told reporters that hosting the Super Bowl allows the city to pursue a bollard replacement project in an infrastructure package. Hopefully it will be finished before the game starts.
“The pole isn’t up because it’s nearly finished with completion expected to be in the Super Bowl – before the Super Bowl.”

Officials acknowledged that the original poles that had been installed were not functioning properly. Therefore, the pole must be urgently replaced.
“We know we have a problem here, right? We will fix it,” Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry said Wednesday.
“It will be a top priority as we head into the Super Bowl and Mardi Gras, and any permanent solutions we will have will be put into standard operating procedures. Let there be important events and keep that quarter.”
