Instead of condemning the terrorists, however, one prominent figure tried to respond by standing up for what she believed in.
Patricia Heaton, Emmy Award-winning star of “Everybody Loves Raymond” and “The Middle,” is an outspoken supporter of Israel and the Jewish people. She discussed what inspired her to take action during a conversation with Fox News Digital that took place before she received an award for her efforts from American Friends of Magen David Adom (MDA), Israel’s version of the Red Cross.
“I just think it’s common knowledge that we all know Jewish history. and especially genocide. And it never happened again. And it happened again. And I didn’t see the kind of evil I expected. Heaton said “And I don’t know why. But I felt like I had to say something because it was so outrageous what happened.”
Heaton, who is Catholic, said that from her time in the entertainment industry She had many Jewish friends. And she called to check in on them after 1 Oct 7.

“They say ‘You are the only one who has contacted me. And we were really upset and scared,’” she recalls. “And then I thought, I need to do more.”
Heaton has since founded the October 7th Coalition (O7C), a non-profit organization that encourages Christians to support the Jewish community and stand against anti-Semitism.
The actress recently visited Israel for the first time. which is a short trip This includes a visit to Jerusalem. Capernaum and Kibbutz Nir Oz, which was the main target of the 10 October 7 Hamas terrorist attacks. She describes what it was like to live there during the war.
“People there live life to the fullest. We heard the Iron Dome shoot and saw it shoot missiles out of the sky. Our guide said ‘When you hear the big noise That’s us So you don’t have to worry about it,’ and we did,” Heaton recalls. “I heard a loud rumbling and saw smoke from where the missiles were coming off. But everyone is making their own day.”
Heaton describes a powerful moment at the Western Wall. Where Jews from all walks of life gather to pray.
“I think there is violence at the Western Wall. Because there were no six degrees of separation on October 7th, everyone knew someone very close to them who had died or been a hostage. So there is violence there,” she said.
“But I feel hope for peace. and hope to continue And they still live life to the fullest.”

In the entertainment industry, Heaton said the response to her work has included little support but a “more vocal and anti-Israel response.”

And read stories from MDA workers who lost loved ones and served on the frontline after attacks by Hamas in southern Israel and Hezbollah in the north. He spoke of being in a ‘dark place’ after Oct. 7 and of the increased anti-Semitism that Jews have faced since then.
“When the room gets dark Turning on the lights helps,” Schreiber said.
The event honors men and women from all faiths who have dedicated themselves to MDA, often risking their lives to help others.
MDA President and former Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Gilad Erdan spoke with Fox News Digital during the event. Erdan spoke about how Hamas shot down Israeli ambulances as they tried to help victims on Oct. 1. C. 7.

Erdan insists that Hamas knows it cannot win the war against the Israeli army. So they want to harm as many civilians as possible in an attempt to instill fear and drive them away.
“By strengthening Magen David Adom to ensure we are present everywhere. We can save lives in minutes. That is the best way to disrupt the enemy’s strategy,” he said.
