A plane crashed on the property of Buffalo Bills offensive lineman Dion Dawkins, killing one person, officials in New York said.
Buffalo Niagara International Airport issued a warning at about 11:16 a.m. ET that the plane had mechanical problems while attempting to reach White Plains, East Aurora Police Chief Patrick Welch said. Its origins come from Lansing, Michigan.
About six minutes later East Aurora officials received a call about a small plane crash in a wooded area. he added

The plane crashed between two residences and was in It was “in the vicinity” of Dawkins’ home, Welch said. WKBW-TV reported that it was Dawkins’ property. citing property records
The offensive lineman was exempt from practice for personal reasons.
Welch said firefighters who responded to the accident reported that there was “The fire was fully involved” upon arrival.

The pilot, the only person aboard the 1979 Beechcraft A36, died, officials said, but their identities were not immediately available.
The National Transportation Safety Board said it would investigate the accident.
Dawkins, a three-time Pro Bowler, talked about the accident when he returned to practice.

“I still wonder why things are the same. in life to happen But tragedies happen all the time. The biggest point about this is that I hope the pilot’s family is OK. I hope they are OK because someone died today in an accident,” he said via Syracuse.com. “I’m glad my family is OK.”
The Bills are preparing for Sunday evening’s matchup with the New England Patriots.
