Some companies are best when they decide to do weird things. Nintendo is definitely one of them. Alarmo was something no one knew they wanted. But the new way it combines its world with an interactive digital watch is fun to witness. Characteristics used to measure user sleep Reading a person’s movements and gently awakening them in a humane way is unlike anything we’ve seen from other novelty watches. We also love that Nintendo is willing to update this regularly. The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe theme is here to stay. No pun intended.

Alarmo is not a perfect piece of work. Most pets hate it. It can work better for couples. For single people and young children It is considered excellent technology. It’s the perfect way to wake up a young child or teen to get to school on time. It’s also a great way for singles to measure their sleep patterns.

Nintendo has had some unique ideas for its library as of late, and Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo ranks high with it, according to Shacknews’ picks for the best hardware of 2024.

Ozzie has been playing video games since he picked up his first NES controller at age 5. He’s been into games ever since. Having only briefly stepped away from university, he was brought back in after spending several years in QA for both THQ and Activision, with much of that time spent helping push the Guitar Hero series to new heights. Ozzie has become Big fan of platform games, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few. But he’s also a total sucker for anything that has a good, compelling narrative behind it. After all, what’s a video game if you can’t enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
